Easy to grow, evergreen herb with small, dark green, aromatic leaves. Blooms beautifully in pinkish-purple, attracting bees and other insects. Tolerates drought, so it is well suited to slopes, walls and rock gardens. The leaves are used fresh or dried in cooking. Harvest as you go. For drying, pick whole twigs before the plant flowers. Thrives in loose, preferably lean soil but undemanding.
