It's easy to grow your own sprouts in water in a glass jar or other container, all year round. It only takes 5-7 days before you can harvest the sprouts. Rinse the seeds and soak them for about 8 hours. Pour off the water, rinse and let them drain. Keep warm, 20-25°C. Gently rinse the seeds 2-3 times a day. Finished sprouts can be stored for up to a week in the fridge. The radish sprouts have a spicy but mild flavor that is excellent on slices of bread, in salads and in egg dishes. The sprouts are rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium and zinc, and have a high vitamin C content.
