The variety is uniformly round in shape and dark red throughout. Particularly suitable for pickling. Do not sow too early. Tolerates spring frosts better than many other varieties, does not flower as easily. The young leaves can be used in the same way as chard. Thrives in nutritious, rich and moisture-retaining soil. Thin out early. Loosen the soil around the plants. Fertilize with potassium-rich fertilizers.
