Flowery, easy to grow and familiar. The variety has double flowers in shades of yellow, apricot and orange. Beautiful to grow in the flowerbed and vegetable garden. Nice to cut. Will readily set seed if the flowers are allowed to wilt and the seeds are left in place. The petals are edible, decorative in salads and drinks. Thrives best in nutrient-rich and well-drained soil, but is undemanding. Water during drought. Cut off wilted flowers as you go, to extend the flowering period. The plant can be used as green manure in the fall.
