Lök, Silver-, Pompei

Silver onion is an extra mild cooking onion with a lovely aroma. It is fast-growing and goes well raw in salads, with burgers and other dishes. Direct seeded in southern Sweden, should be pre-cultivated to give normal sized onions in the rest of the country. Small onions can be used as pickling onions. Thrives in rich, preferably calcareous soil. Water during drought for a better harvest. Cover with fiber cloth against onion fly.
