Easy to grow, perennial herb. The variety produces narrow leaves with a very fine aroma and mild onion flavor. The leaves are used fresh in salads, herring, egg dishes, new potatoes, etc. They can also be frozen for winter use. Do not let the plant flower, it only takes power from other growth. Sowing in October can give earlier germination in spring. Thrives on rich calcareous soil, preferably loam, but undemanding.
